This turned out to be a very cooperative Black Bear (Ursus americanus) in Yellowstone National Park. I first saw it foraging in sagebrush about 75-100 yds (70-90m) away from the road. After quite a while, it started coming closer and I moved to try to stay ahead of it. It crossed the road about 15 yds (13m) from me and I had lots of opportunities to photograph it with the 600 & 2x, 600 & 1.4x, 600, and finally the 70-200 with 1.4x. This is my favorite image of the approach when it took a small turn to give me a nice side view.
