First Light

We headed into White Sands National Monument yesterday morning under a fantastic cloud layer. After parking near a promising area, I dashed off into the dunes to find a composition to take advantage of first light. This group of yucca was starting to light up and I adjusted my position to make the most of the clouds in the background. Bingo — it was one of those shots when everything came together and I knew I had a winner.
