There wasn't a cloud in the sky yesterday at White Sands National Monument, so here's another image from two days ago when we did have clouds. There weren't any clouds shortly after lunch two days ago, so we decided not to go back in the afternoon. However, clouds started developing late in the afternoon so we headed out and arrived about half an hour before sunset. As we were getting our gear ready, another car pulled up and the driver noted that there wasn't much light left and asked what we hoped to photograph. I said something like, "We'll see what we find," and then headed off into the dunes. There was in fact not much light left because the cloud cover had become almost solid. I made some images before and around sun set, including one with a cloud that developed some subtle color. Then I found the fantastic twig in the image above and set up to photograph it with the small wave in the clouds. So, this is what I photographed after the sun set and the light was very low.
