Above the Clouds in Mountain Zebra National Park, South Africa

Mountain Zebra National Park is one of my favorite parks in South Africa. It's located at the boundary of the Karoo and the Eastern Cape Escarpment and provides a home for the once almost-extinct Cape mountain zebra. The park entrance and accommodation area are located on the plain and valley floor, and my favorite game drive loop is atop a mesa. There are frequently interesting clouds down in the valley, and one morning this past March the clouds at sunrise were fantastic, so we stopped near the top of the mesa to photograph the changing scene.
