Pintail at Bosque
The male northern pintail is a beautiful duck, and I was able to get my first good images of one recently at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. There was a small group feeding in one of the ponds close to the Marsh Loop in the morning, and I captured some nice images as they swam across an open area of the pond with no distracting brush.

Looks like he had to swim to get the duck too. What luck! But then again, you always seem to be in the right place at the right time. I'm sure that's not all chance though, you certainly put in the time to be where you need to be. |

The coyote was definitely in the water to get the pintail, and I wish we could have seen that! Being out in the field often certainly increases your chances of getting a unique image. |
