Mallard at Bosque

After the sun rose at Bosque on our first morning, we left the crane pool and drove around the Farm and Marsh Loops. We stopped at the Farm Deck, one of the named viewing platforms on the Farm Loop, mainly to photograph the snow geese that were out in the corn field. The wind wasn't quite right to get great flight shots of the geese, but it was close enough to get some decent shots. I was quite surprised to see some mallard ducks flying around above the corn field, and took the opportunity to photograph them. My favorite malled image is of a single drake (above).
