This is the first year we've photographed both the dog, or male, and vixen Swift Fox (Vulpes velox) at the den at the same time. In the past, only the vixen stayed at the den and was out with the kits. In this image, most of the family was out for a decent family portrait. We thought we glimpsed a fourth kit yesterday, but in all the activity with the kits in and out of the den it was hard to tell. This morning, we got a good look at all four kits out at one time.
