We're taking a much slower pace as the days wind down on our visit to Iceland. We explored a new road across the Snæfellsnes peninsula two days ago, one that goes high up and over the side of Snæfell near the Snæfellsjökull (glacier). We started on the north side near Ólafsvik and stopped to photograph several waterfalls on the aptly-named Fossá, literally the waterfall river.

Yesterday we spent some time at a wetlands near Rif where there were lots of Arctic Terns. This one is either cleaning its prey or practicing fishing. It had been flying high above the water with the fish in its mouth, then it descended to water level and dropped the fish into the water and promptly recaught it.
