While Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico is known for sandhill crane and snow goose photography, it's also a great place to photograph other kinds of wildlife. One morning, we stopped to photograph some white-crowned sparrows feeding in a bush. I was working an immature white-crowned sparrow when it suddenly took off and I was able to capture it before it left my frame.
