The clouds looked promising at the Wings on my hike out before dawn into the Bisti Wilderness. The clouds to the west had wonderful structure so I waited for them light up and also photographed them because I knew they would look good in black and white (above). As I was waiting for the clouds in this composition to light up, the clouds behind me to the east were putting on a show I couldn't resist.

I quickly changed lenses and went around to the other side of the wings and positioned one of the Wings in front of the most interesting section of clouds. Which image do you like better?
