I had a very nice encounter yesterday afternoon in Yellowstone National Park with a Black Bear (Ursus americanus) sow and her two cubs of the year or spring cubs. This cub sat down on the hillside and waved its right arm around for quite a while, and in this image it looks like it's waving at the spectators. It's a little known fact that the bears come to Yellowstone in the spring so that they can experience the abundant wildlife that arrives in shiny metal boxes.
