This image is all about the environment, or rather a very plain and simple setting that really makes the subject stand out. I saw a small herd of Bison (Bison bison) approaching the crest of a hill with a dark mountainside in the distance and set up and waited for them to crest the hill. After a while, this little calf came across the top of the hill and walked between some of the adults isolating it for a great portrait.
