Spurfowl are interesting chicken-sized African birds. This red-necked spurfowl hen and chick waited patiently on a road in Kruger National Park as I got down to ground level to make this image. The chick was illuminated nicely by a sliver of light coming through a gap in the brush and was a bit further away from me than the hen. Because they weren't moving, I was able to take two images, one with the chick's eye in focus and one with the hen's eye in focus, and then combined them by hand in Photoshop to have an image with both eyes in sharp focus.
