I absolutely love the Canon EF 600mm f4 IS II USM lens that I rented! I used it, along with a 2x III, to photograph this Uinta ground squirrel surrounded by mountain bluebell from the comfort of the front seat of my Jeep. I probably could have set up on a tripod and photographed it with just a 1.4x or even with my old 500 f4 and 1.4x, but it was really convenient to photograph it from the Jeep for the 40 minutes or so that I spent with it instead of kneeling that long to get a similar low perspective.
