This is an image from a few months ago in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. We recently experienced a cold snap in Colorado, but it wasn't cold long enough to create conditions like these cascades on the partially-frozen San Miguel River back in January. I captured this image shortly before the image on the blog entry for January 5, 2013. However, I just processed it this week and preferred a black-and-white treatment to emphasize the structure of the composition because the subtle blue/green water and brown rocks don't add much to the image.
