The fall color on the east side of Zion National Park has started to fade and the color in the main valley is just starting. So, I started looking for other subjects to photograph by exploring some areas where I've never been before in the park. I was quite happy to come across a string of pools in the slick rock filled with water, and I was really excited that they could be used to create some nice compositions. This image was made at first light as the sun started to illuminate the formation in the background. Now, if there were just some clouds instead of a boring clear blue sky.
