Glacier National Park in Montana is probably my favorite national park in the lower 48. The rugged mountains, deep blue lakes, wildflowers, and wildlife are fantastic. I made this image of St. Mary Falls last July late in the afternoon. The sun was still filtering through the mist at the top of the falls which not only helped make the mist stand out but also helped illuminate the falls in the narrow chasm. I used a polarizer to reduce the reflections from the wet foliage and bring out the wonderful color, and a three-stop neutral density filter to lengthen the exposure and create the silky moving water.
