I was completing my photography route in Grant Teton National Park late yesterday afternoon and was preparing to head back to the RV when I saw a grouse on the road. I looked around and saw three others up on the snow bank by the side of the road so I quickly put my beanbag out the window and then put my long lens on top of it and slowly drove right up to this Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus). It was a nice cooperative subject and posed for me before heading down the snow bank to join the others on the road.
