I was figuratively skunked yesterday due to the snow and thick clouds in Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, so here's an image from two days ago when the skunk trumped this juvenile Red-Tailed Hawk (Buteo jamaicensis). The hawk must have seen a rodent and flew in to have brunch. When I arrived, the hark was just staring at the ground, probably waiting for brunch to reappear. After a while, it started walking away which is when I made this image.
