I've been up at Glacier National Park for a week. I had been really looking forward to this visit because I had had such a great time in August 2012. (You can read about that beginning with the blog entry for August 13, 2012.) I was particularly looking forward to photographing the grizzly bears using my new-since-then Canon 1D X and 600 f4 IS II with a 2x III when needed. Unfortunately, the bears haven't been out very much, probably because the weather is a lot warmer this year than in 2012 and they're enjoying cooler temperatures at higher elevations. I've only kept one image of a bear so far this year, and it's not exciting enough for the blog. I've also been swamped with a special project that went awry, so I've been spending a lot of time in the office doing computer work and have been really distracted from making images.
This image of the full Moon setting above a ridge was made four mornings ago while out looking for bears. I haven't photographed anything since, despite going out twice a day to look for bears. Hopefully things will change now that the crisis of the special project is over and I can relax a little as I finish the anticipated part of the special project.
