Bare Cottonwood Tree in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming

I made it to Yellowstone National Park yesterday afternoon, and there were several inches of fresh snow from the previous day and overnight. I was surprised that it was sunny with white puffy clouds. I've never visited the park at this time of year before, but earlier in the winter such conditions are rare. I photographed some wildlife, but my favorite image is of my favorite cottonwood tree. I've never photographed it before because conditions were never quite right, but I've taken a good hard look at it many a time. Yesterday, with the snow still covering the trunk and the blue sky with clouds behind it, I finally pulled the trigger.
