Oxpeckers and mammals have a symbiotic relationship. The birds remove and then eat parasites from mid-sized to large mammals and there are cleaning stations where they assemble to carry out the exchange. At one such cleaning station in Kruger National Park, I photographed these two red-billed oxpecker attending a young female impala.
