I moved back to Capitol Reef National Park to photograph the cottonwoods that should have been a beautiful yellow. Unfortunately, the trees were in an odd state with some trees a mix of green/yellow and yellow/brown leaves, other trees mostly brown, and some with half the leaves already fallen. Oh well, at least there were clouds as forecast. I made this image in the morning with some of those clouds turning a wonderful reddish purple. The color might have been more intense had I realized that there was a polarizer on the lens that was set for the scene I photographed a few days ago — doh!
