It was a two-blog-image day yesterday on Mt. Evans. The morning started out slowly, but then I decided to try to photograph some Yellow-Bellied Marmots in an area where they had always been uncooperative before. This time, I stopped in the Jeep to watch the one marmot I had seen while driving by, and then I saw four marmots in the general area. I set up, worked my way over to take some portraits, and they were cooperative. I ended up spending almost an hour and a half with them. Two of the younger marmots sparred many different times and in different orientations and locations. This is my favorite image from the morning.

The afternoon was good for Mountain Goats. We spent about half an hour with four kids, some yearlings, and nannies. The afternoon light was nice, and in this image, the mountain in the background was in the shade making the kid really stand out.
