My knee is doing better, and I was able to get out among the rocks in Valley Of Fire State Park yesterday without using a crutch. I had to choose my path carefully so I wouldn't have to go up or down any big steps, but it was great to be able to explore and photograph further from the car.

I made this image in the evening in full shade after the sun had set beyond a ridge. The bright diffuse light was perfect to illuminate the many crevices without harsh shadows.
