Black-Winged Stilt in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa

I photographed this Black-Winged Stilt in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa, last April. I was surprised to see this wader in a small waterhole surrounded by miles and miles of dry desert. The stilt was illuminated by a shaft of light shortly after sunrise and the bushes that are reflected in the water were in shade which really makes the stilt stand out.

My knee is doing better, but I'm still resting it and not trying to walk on it until I can see an orthopedist later this week.
