Back in February 2010, we were in Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona. I had only been there one time before, and I had forgotten about the extensive badlands. I love badlands! The patterns and forms created by the erosion just draw me in. One afternoon we had some fantastic clouds, and I thoroughly enjoyed making images with my favorite landscape lens at the time, the Canon TS-E 24mm f3.5 L (Mk I). The tilt motion let me place the plane of focus along the bush in the foreground and the formations in the background to get the whole image in focus with a moderate f-stop. It was right after visiting Petrified Forest National Park that I sold the Mk I version of the TS-E 24 and purchased the Mk II version which has much better image quality. The Canon TS-E 24mm f3.5 L II is my current favorite landscape lens.
