Dwarf Mongoose in Kruger National Park, South Africa

On our tenth full day in Kruger National Park, South Africa, we explored the area around the Pretoriuskop Rest Camp. We had a nice encounter with a lone white rhino early on, then had another good encounter with four white rhino. We found a second leopard, but it wasn't in a good location for photography, so we waited. When it finally got up and moved, it headed away from us instead of towards us and into good light. We ended the day with five lions atop a cluster of rocks.

My favorite image of the day is of a dwarf mongoose. Dwarf mongoose are usually found in groups, and today there were eight of them by the side of the road. We had fun watching and photographing them play. During a break in the action, a curious mongoose came over to investigate us and I was able to get a nice image of it prairiedogging! :)
