I photographed two different Golden Jackal (Canis aureus) dens on my recent visit to Ngorongoro Crater. More specifically they were the Serengeti Jackal (Canis aureus bea) subspecies that is very similar to the Coyote (Canis latrans) and are also closely related to the Gray Wolf (Canis lupus). This image with a pup and adult playing is from the second den we found and the pups were a lot younger and cuter.
