Another favorite subject in the high country of Colorado is the Yellow-Bellied Marmot or Yellowbelly Marmot (Marmota flaviventris). This is one of eight youngsters, probably from two litters, that hang around together, and I've been spending some time with them when it's too windy to photograph wildflowers. Marmots don't usually sit like this unless they're grooming, but this guy was just reclining while watching me.
