I'm currently at Antelope Island State Park in the Great Salt Lake because it's a good place to hang out and photograph wildlife while waiting for the weather to improve in Wyoming. Conditions here are almost Spring-like with new green growth starting to come up and red-winged blackbirds and western meadowlarks singing like crazy trying to attract mates.

So far, my most exciting animal encounter was this coyote. I first came upon it on the shoulder of the road on the causeway, and it was rather laid back and didn't mind me and other vehicles stopping to watch and take pictures. After a while, it went down into the more natural environment between the road and the Great Salt Lake and that's when I started photographing it as it made its way along the causeway and paused occasionally for a nice portrait. Then it turned around and started howling — way cool! It continued on its way for a while then laid down in some brush. By this time, I saw a second coyote back in the direction the first one was facing when it howled, so I went to check on that one. The second coyote was really shy, so I left after a short time so it could catch up to the first coyote.
