I drove up towards Mt. Hood yesterday to look for near-peak color at higher elevation than the Columbia River Gorge. I was thrilled to see Western Larch turning color, but wasn't able to find a subject that had to be photographed. This vine maple, however, was begging to be photographed as it poked out between two large evergreen trunks.
