Rocks at dawn, Ecola State Park, Oregon, USA

Without interesting clouds, it was a challenge to make images at Indian Beach in Ecola State Park. This image was made before sunrise with subtle color in the sky and the 2-second exposure was enough to blur the retreating foam after a big wave came in. I used a 6-inch (150mm) 2-stop hard grad attached to my DIY filter holder to hold back the sky. I've ordered a Lee adapter to mount their regular Foundation Kit onto the Canon TS-E 17mm and can't wait to try it out. It does not allow full motions without vignetting, but I hope it will allow enough motion to be practical because I'll be able to use my full suite of 4-inch (100mm) filters.
