Our last three days in Yellowstone National Park were really slow photographically. Fortunately, the great gray owl nest was fantastic on the last day. The mother flew off the nest to a perch about 25 yds (25m) behind me where the father gave her some food, then she flew back to the nest and fed the two chicks for about half an hour. It was a thrill to watch and photograph! It was a great way to end a very productive stay in the park.
