This is what makes the San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado so spectacular for fall color: 14,000 ft (4300m) snow-covered mountains! Mt. Sneffels (14,158 ft, 4315m), pictured, is the centerpiece of the Sneffels Range which has several 13,000 ft (3900m) mountains on either side. The range received a dusting of snow three days ago and received a significant amount of snow two days ago just in time for me to make this image yesterday morning before the aspens lost too many leaves.
