No foxes were visible when we arrived at the Swift Fox den yesterday morning. We waited for a while, then the vixen crested the hill and came running towards the den with three Thirteen-Lined Ground Squirrels in her mouth. She swung wide so we couldn't photograph her when she came with range, and then dashed straight into the den to drop off breakfast for the kits. Then she came back out and rested by the den for a while. Then she checked the area (above) and dashed away to go hunting again.
