We had a breakthrough yesterday morning at the Swift Fox den in the Pawnee National Grassland. The vixen came out, looked at us for a while, then disappeared back into the den. About an hour later, she came back out, looked at us, then went to the far edge of the den complex and laid down in the sun to rest. She practically fell asleep! When she got up, she went down the main entrance to the den, and a few minutes later brought a kit back out with her. The kit explored for a bit, then she groomed it, then they played for a while. My favorite image is of the kit climbing over its mother's back.
