I photographed this Martial Eagle bringing nesting material to its nest in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, South Africa this past April. Martial Eagles are the largest eagle in Africa with a wingspan of 188–227 cm (6.17–7.45 ft), about the same as the Bald Eagle of North America.

Canon EOS 5D Mk III

Cannon has announced the EOS 5D Mk III and it's a big improvement over the 5D Mk II. It now has a 61-point AF system that's practically the same as the one in the 1D X. It has a 6.0 fps frame rate which is significantly faster than the 3.9 fps of the 5D Mk II and also better then the 5.0 fps of the 1Ds Mk III. Plus, it has a locking mode-control dial, so you no longer have to worry about the camera changing modes when you're not looking. It has a better build quality than the 5D Mk II, and with 22.3 MP and a gapless sensor design, it might make a good replacement for my 21 MP 1Ds Mk III if the rumored higher-pixel version of the 1D X doesn't materialize.

My Knee

I've had an MRI and it shows a torn lateral meniscus. I'm to do physical therapy to get my range of motion back, and if my knee is still giving me problems after that, then surgery may be in order.
