Mountain Lion in Living Desert Zoo And Gardens State Park, New Mexico

We went to the Living Desert Zoo And Gardens State Park, New Mexico, for the first time yesterday. It showcases species of the Chihuahuan Desert and we were particularly interested in photographing their Mexican gray wolves. Unfortunately, the wolf enclosure isn't very good for photography. The enclosures for the bobcats and cougars are better, especially in the afternoon when the animals and the mesh of their enclosure are in the shade. By having the mesh significantly closer to the camera than the subject, it's possible to shoot through the mesh and still get a decent image like this mountain lion, or cougar, cleaning up after it had finished eating.
