We hung out with a group of bighorn sheep yesterday in Clear Creek County, Colorado. It's the beginning of the rut and the rams are getting excited — literally. :) We saw lots of typical rut behavior: lip curling, low crouching, attentive following, attempted mounting, and head butting. The environment was a little messy for this image of two rams head butting, but I like the diagonal and fully-outstretched rear legs of the ram coming up from downhill.

It may be messy but really does show the environment they live in and the terrain that they do their sparring in.
I like it.
