We finally had a great encounter with the black bear sow and two cubs-of-the-year yesterday in Waterton Lakes National Park. It was late in the evening and we hadn't seen a bear all day when we first spotted the two cubs up in the top of a pine tree. We stopped, and soon mama came out from the brush and the cubs came down. They spent 10-15 minutes in a nice open area and they gave us some nice looks. My favorite image is of one of the cubs.
