We were in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Arizona, in March 2010 at just the right time for the peak of the Mexican Poppy bloom. The yellow hillsides with saguaro and organ pipe cacti were spectacular. We also turned our attention to other subjects, including fairy duster blooms (above). The fairy duster is a small shrub, and its blossoms are quite interesting to photograph.
