We returned to the special quiver tree location near Springbok again this morning and photographed different trees to take advantage of the morning light. We scouted another recommended area in the afternoon, and returned to the first location in the evening to photograph because we liked it better.

The evening light there is much better than the morning light, and my favorite image of the day is from the evening shoot. I really missed not having my Canon TS-E 24mm f3.5 L II along because it would have been perfect for this composition and others. I just didn't want to carry it along for just three days of shooting and the weeks of exposure to lots of dust. Even though it would have been in my Lowepro Photo Trekker Classic backpack, the zippers let in very fine dust, and the lens would have been covered by it. Maybe next time I'll bring the lens along and wrap it in a stuff sack to keep the dust off.

This is such a nice composition and the light definitely was exceptional!
