Infant Mountain Gorilla in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda

On our fourth day of mountain gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda, we visited the Kwitonda group. It has 20 members including three silverbacks.

The 0.9-mile (1.5km) hike from the trailhead at 7840 ft (2390m) to where we left our porters at 8090 ft (2470m) took us about an hour. It was mostly cloudy with just a few breaks which was great for photography.

My favorite image of the trek is of an infant climbing a vine. Gorillas at that age are just so cute!
